TRAVEL CLASSICS

For me, everything started with 35mm.

There’s only 36 exposures to a roll of Kodachrome, and when you are backpacking you carry a lot of film. Since film is heavy, each shot has to count.

My world travels began in 1982 with a trip to Israel, Egypt, and Lebanon followed by a solo backpacking adventure throughout Europe and the United Kingdom. Money was spent on food, housing, trains, and film. By the end of the trip, I returned with 25 rolls of exposed film and the clothes on my back. Even my shoes were left on the airplane.
